Kim Fabian has astounded family and work colleagues by completing a tandem skydive to raise money for Help for Heroes, a cause close to her heart and the nominated charity of the year of her business ChipsAway, the UK’s leading automotive paintwork repair specialist.
Appropriately, Kim’s tandem partner was ex-serviceman Martin Wilshaw, who has completed over 6,700 jumps in his 37 years as a parachutist – a welcome reassurance for Kim!
The 10,000 ft leap took place at Tilstock Airfield on the 6th August, Kim is expecting to raise £500 for the Help For Heroes Charity, but she would love to raise a £1 per foot jumped! To contribute to this great cause visit Kim’s Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/Kim-Fabian
Kim saw for herself the impact of the charity when a close family member was injured in Iraq, and she is considering another jump, next time as a solo diver. Kim said of her charity endeavour, ‘The free fall was amazing and the whole experience was exhilarating.’
Chief Executive of ChipsAway, Lloyd Evans added, ”Congratulations to Kim. We’re all tremendously impressed with her daring and delighted with the contribution to our continued efforts for Help for Heroes – to date we have raised well over £15,000 for the charity. This hair-raising fundraiser will hopefully encourage other high fliers at ChipsAway to throw themselves into the charity spirit, and join Kim in raising funds for Help for Heroes and increasing awareness of the great work they do!”
